Medicom Toy 15th Anniversary Mickey Mouse

In celebration of its 15th anniversary, Medicom Toy has designed this special edition Mickey Mouse figurine. Based off the classic 1937 episode entitled “As The Worm Turns,” the toy depicts a a gloved Mickey wearing a lab coat and mixing up a very special concoction. While a similar figure was released a few months back, this version comes in a brand new black and white colorway. Priced at ￥7,140 JPY (approximately $90 USD), the toy will be available for purchase at the Medicom Toy 15th Anniversary Exhibition in Tokyo from July 30 through August 22. Via//Hypebeast

Disney x CLOT x MINDstyle 3-Eyed Mickey.

The only major designer toy exposition in Asia, the Taipei Toy Festival is an annual event celebrating the link between art and toys. This year, for the very first time, Hong Kong-based street fashion brand CLOT will be appearing as an exhibitor to present a series of action figures produced in collaboration with Disney and MINDstyle. One figurine scheduled to make its debut is this 3-eyed Mickey toy that comes in two distinct colorways. Priced at $132 USD for an 8″ version and $7,670 for a 5’3″ version (mono colorway only available in 8″ version), the figurines will be available for purchase at the CLOT booth during the festival.via/hypebeast

Prodigy x Medicom Toy “Invaders Must Die” 400% Bearbrick.

While British electronica label Prodigy’s fifth album Invaders Must Die was released over a year ago, the group will go ahead and release a 400% Bearbrick to mark their efforts. Created in conjunction with Medicom Toy, the 400% Bearbrick superimposes elements of the album’s artwork onto the front and back of the figure. A limited release is slated for Saturday, January 15 through select channels.

KAWS Companion Robert Lazzarini Version.

Kaws has announced that next week he’ll be unveiling three new versions of his noted Companion figure as a collaborative effort with artist Robert Lazzarini. The three Companion figures are consistent with KAWS styling and manufacturing except for one marked difference, they each take on a unique form of deformation. Lazzarini’s influence is clear in the Companions which work to distort perspective, and appear to be almost melted into their new stances. Special molds were used to achieve the deformed look which Lazzarini has championed, and can be seen further in his Weapons Series. Keep your eyes peeled for a release at OriginalFake in Aoyama next week, and a drop on kawsone.com in January.

Eric Haze contributes the following design for MEDICOM TOY’s Series 21 of BEARBRICKS. Haze’s original partnership with MEDICOM TOY took place five years ago as part of the Stussy World Wide Tour exhibition. This follow-up features less of a literal design as the BEARBRICK serves as a canvas for one of Haze’s recently developed patterns with Mondrian-inspirations. Check your local MEDICOM TOY dealer for availability although they will come in a blind box format.

December 4th marks the launch of the collaborative effort between MEDICOM TOY and American skateboarding legend Mark Gonzales (KROOKED SKATEBOARDING). As part of the BEARBRICK collection the project assimilates Mark’s extemporaneous nature into the design realm in the form of a bright yellow figure with aspects of Mark’s signature eyes on the face. The black graphics on the figure’s stomach highlights a distinguishing phrase reading “Get it strait ride KROOKED” an undeniable motto of the company itself. Available now through Project 1/6.

James Jarvis x MEDICOM TOY HELLO KITTY.

In a mash-up of toys and signature characters, James Jarvis of Amos Toys and his iconic YOD are combined with the colors of Hello Kitty. The familiar bulbous body of YOD is seen but of course trademark Hello Kitty elements such as the bow can also be seen. The collection includes both a vinyl and a plush version, available starting November 27th, 2010 through select MEDICOM TOY retailers.

MEDICOM TOY x Bandai - Chogokin 200% BE@RBRICK

Bandai is a Japanese toy manufacturer with good tradition in making main stream toys. On the other hand MEDICOM TOY is much newer company that serves the urban market and they have worked together to produce a couple of Chogokin (Metal) 200% BE@BRICK that is fully functional much like the standard plastic BE@BRICK. The Chrome version is plain and simple with no branding what so ever on the body except the Chogokin logo on the back. The Black version however has the BE@RBRICK “@” logo printed on the front with the back sporting the Chogokin logo. Packaged in a custom box in complimenting color.

MEDICOM TOY x Disney - Winnie The Pooh & Piglet BE@RBRICK

MEDICOM TOY will be releasing Disney’s favorite bear, Winnie the Pooh and his best friend Piglet in a BE@RBRICK form. The pair comes in a two BE@RBRICK set that is produced in original 100% sizes. Adorable smiling faces of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet is printed on the face of the BE@RBRICK and the ears and noses matches naturally without looking too awkward. The body fittingly printed in their famous bright colored clothes and the belly of the BE@RBRICK suits these characters well.
